The UNC women’s basketball team was held to its lowest point total of the season on Thursday night at Carmichael Arena, suffering a 61-51 loss to Florida State.

Guard Stephanie Watts led the Tar Heels with 11 points off the bench, while forward Janelle Bailey added a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds–but that would not be enough to keep the team from suffering its third straight loss.

UNC is now 8-8 overall this season and 3-8 against ACC opponents. Florida State moves to 6-4 overall and 5-4 inside the conference.

At halftime on Thursday, the Tar Heels had managed to score just 18 points to Florida State’s 29. The Seminoles then opened the third quarter on a 9-0 run to bring the lead as high as 20 points.

UNC outscored the Seminoles in the fourth quarter, but were unable to come closer than eight points.
