
A total of eight Tar Heels were named to the women’s All-American teams by Inside Lacrosse on Friday, highlighted by a whopping five First Team selections.
Attackers Jamie Ortega and Katie Hoeg joined midfielder Ally Mastroianni, defender Emma Trenchard and goalie Taylor Moreno in earning First Team honors.
Defenders Caroline Wakefield and Catie Woodruff each were selected to the Third Team, while attacker Scottie Rose Growney was named an honorable mention.
UNC has compiled a perfect 19-0 record this season heading into this Saturday’s NCAA quarterfinal game against Stony Brook and has won a program-record 26 straight games dating back to 2020.
The Tar Heels have the 10th-ranked offense in the country at 16 goals per game and have the nation’s top scoring defense–having allowed opponents to score just 6.11 goals per game.
