The 15th-ranked UNC baseball team recovered from losing three straight games this past weekend at Clemson with an 18-8 victory on Tuesday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium over the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs.
Danny Serretti went 5-for-5 in the game for UNC (13-4) and was one of five Tar Heels to drive in at least two runs–joining Brandon Martorano (three RBIs), Ike Freeman (three RBIs), Aaron Sabato and Ashton McGee.
UNC also used eight different pitchers to get through the game.
Gardner-Webb (7-6) scored three runs in the top of the third inning to take a 3-2 lead, but the Tar Heels responded with 10 runs in the next two innings to ultimately take what turned into a 12-5 lead.
UNC scored at least once in each of the last five innings, as its final run total of 18 marked a season-high.
