The 64-team bracket for this year’s NCAA Baseball Tournament was revealed Monday afternoon, listing UNC as the No. 6 overall seed.
This comes after a season in which the team went 38-18 (22-8 ACC) and claimed both the ACC Coastal Division title and the No. 1 overall seed for the ACC Tournament.
Joining UNC at Boshamer Stadium this weekend for the Chapel Hill Regional is a group that includes: No. 2 seed Purdue (37-19, 17-6 Big Ten), No. 3 seed Houston (36-23, 16-8 AAC) and No. 4 seed North Carolina A&T (32-23, 16-8 MEAC).
Of those teams, the Tar Heels have only faced NC A&T in 2018–a 1-0 shutout victory back on March 13.
The regional consists of a double elimination format that will see the teams play each other as many times as needed until only one of the four is left to advance to a Super Regional.
UNC begins play on Friday against NC A&T, with first pitch set for 2 p.m.
