After returning home from Orlando early Monday morning, the No. 11 Tar Heel baseball team is going right back to work; putting their 4-2 record on the line, welcoming the 3-3 St. John’s Red Storm to Boshamer Stadium for a game that will start Tuesday at 3 p.m.
UNC looks to recover after dropping two out of three to No. 4 UCLA this past weekend, needing a better performance from the pitching staff after the Bruins scored at least six runs in each contest against the Tar Heels.
Sophomore right-fielder Tyler Ramirez has led the way on offense for Carolina so far in this young season, posting team highs with two home runs, seven RBI, and an impressive .500 on-base percentage.
St. John’s is coming off a weekend tournament in Greenville, North Carolina, where it went 2-1, losing to East Carolina in the finale on Sunday. The Red Storm have not played at home in frigid New York yet this season (and aren’t scheduled to until March 14th).
Starting pitchers for Tuesday’s game have yet to be announced.
