Both the UNC men’s and women’s cross country teams posted strong finishes on Saturday morning at the Cavalier Classic in Earlyfarms, Virginia–with the women taking a second place finish and the men ending in third.

The women, led by second-place Morgan Ilse and third-place Paige Hofstad, ended the race with 42 points, while the men ended up at 64.

On the men’s side, UNC was paced by Jeremy Brown (fifth place) and Matt Thornton (ninth).

A total of three Tar Heel women and three Tar Heel men all broke their personal records for the 5K and the 8K, respectively.
