UNC freshman point guard Cole Anthony–who previously announced he would hold off on announcing his NBA Draft decision as the coronavirus pandemic wreaks havoc in his hometown of New York City–got involved on the frontlines of the pandemic on Tuesday.

Anthony spent the day helping to pass out around 100 pre-packaged meals to workers at Harlem Hospital, while also telling New York news station PIX-11 that it’s all part of an initiative he’s spearheading that will include multiple hospitals in New York–with the next stop on the list being the Brooklyn Hospital.

“These people here, they’re on the frontlines,” Anthony told PIX-11. “They’re pretty much risking their health and safety every single day to help the community and help people around us. So, they’re the heroes right now. They really need all the support they can get.”

New York City has become the epicenter of the pandemic in the United States, with over 200,000 confirmed cases and over 10,000 deaths to this point.
