It was a beautiful day in Boshamer Stadium Tuesday evening as the No. 13 North Carolina baseball team wrapped up its 13-3 victory over George Mason to improve to 11-4 on the season.

With the loss, the Patriots dropped to 9-6 on the year.

The 13-run total was a season high for the Tar Heels as Wood Myers had a three-run double in the second inning and Tyler Ramirez recorded a two-run triple in the fifth inning to pull away from George Mason.

Taylore Cherry, making his first start on the mound of 2014, got off to a rough start, but rebounded from there. Reilly Hovis was again reliable as a reliever, striking out a career high six batters.

Jack Geraghty made his debut for the Tar Heels in the ninth. The redshirt freshman impressively threw 14 strikes in 16 pitches to wrap up the contest.

Next up for the Tar Heels is a Wednesday meeting with Gardner Webb at 1 p.m. back at Boshamer Stadium.
