UNC sophomore Cameron Morra took home the championship at the ITA Carolina Regionals on Monday in Winston-Salem with a convincing 6-4, 6-1 win over top-seeded Kelly Chen of Duke.

Morra, the nation’s No. 12 ranked player, was the No. 2 seed in the tournament. Chen came into the match ranked fifth nationally.

This marks Morra’s second career ITA Regionals title, after teaming with Makenna Jones last year to win the doubles tournament.

UNC has also claimed five ITA Regionals singles titles since 2014, with Morra joining Carolina Price (2014), Hayley Carter (2015) and Sara Daavettila (2016, 2018) in pulling off the feat.
