The UNC men’s basketball team held its annual team awards ceremony on Wednesday night, with graduate transfer Cameron Johnson earning the Dean Smith Most Valuable Player Award after an outstanding final season in Carolina blue.

Johnson’s 16.9 points per game led the team in scoring, and his 96 made three-pointers were the second-most in a single season in the history of the program. He also averaged 5.8 rebounds per game, and was the only player in the ACC to rank in the league’s top 10 in terms of field goal, three-point and free throw percentages.

The Marvin Williams Carolina Way Award was given to senior guard Kenny Williams, while senior forward Luke Maye was the recipient of the Tyler Zeller Scholar-Athlete Award.

Sophomore forward Garrison Brooks took home two honors, as he was named the George Lynch Defensive Player of the Year Award and the Danny Green Most Improved Player Award.
