The UNC football team will close out its 2021 season in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl Thursday against South Carolina in Charlotte. The Tar Heels are searching for their second bowl win in three seasons under head coach Mack Brown, as well as the team’s third straight winning season. It is also potentially the last appearance in a Carolina uniform for junior quarterback Sam Howell, who graduated from UNC in December and is projected as an early pick in the NFL Draft.

If you aren’t making the trip to the Queen City for the game, here’s how to follow along at home:

Broadcast Schedule

Those hoping to listen on the radio with Jones Angell on the call can do so at 97.9 FM and 1360 AM, or by streaming the radio broadcast on Chapelboro.com.

97.9 The Hill’s radio coverage of the game will begin bright and early at 8:30 a.m. with Inside Carolina Live, hosted by Joey Powell and Tommy Ashley from Charlotte.

At 10:30 a.m., the broadcast will shift down the street to Jones Angell and the Tar Heel Sports Network for their pregame coverage until kickoff. They will also carry postgame coverage for approximately an hour after the conclusion of the game.

“On the Heels” with Paul Connell and Andy Chacos will air later that night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., as 97.9 The Hill will broadcast the UNC women’s basketball team’s game against Syracuse, with pregame coverage beginning at 3:30 p.m. and tip-off scheduled for 4 p.m.

All of these broadcasts will be available live on the radio or by streaming on Chapelboro.com.

TV Schedule

Television coverage of the game begins with the kickoff at 11:30 a.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN. As of today, Spectrum, AT&T, Xfinity, Dish and DirecTV all carry ESPN.

What if I don’t have cable?

A live stream will be available on ESPN’s digital platforms.

Additionally, several cord-cutting options carry ESPN.

YouTube TV prices at $65/month and carries all of ESPN’s channels (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, etc.).

Hulu TV goes for $70/month and includes all ESPN channels, but does not carry MLB Network, NBA TV or NFL Red Zone.

Sling TV is the cheapest at $35/month for the Orange package. Make sure to avoid Sling Blue, as that package does not carry ESPN.
