Carolina players past and present were named to the final World Championship roster for the USA Women’s Lacrosse team, which will compete for the title this summer in Maryland.

Jenny Levy has coached Team USA since 2017 in addition to leading the Tar Heels, so it’s no surprise her team has a distinct light blue tint. Two of Levy’s current Carolina players, defender Emma Trenchard and midfielder Ally Mastroianni, feature on the 18-woman roster. Both Trenchard and Mastroianni were named preseason All-Americans before UNC’s 2022 season.

In addition, goalie Caylee Waters, defender Emily Parros, midfielder Marie McCool and attacker Molly Hendrick will play for Levy and Team USA. Each of those four players won a national title under Levy while in Chapel Hill.

“We are excited to announce a dynamic and talented group of women who will represent the United States in this summerโ€™s World Lacrosse Womenโ€™s World Championship,” Levy told USA Lacrosse. “Our journey to this point has been anything but normal. These women possess a passion and love of lacrosse which is demonstrated through their tireless preparation, engagement and energy.”

Team USA has won eight of 10 all-time Women’s Lacrosse World Championships, though this will be its first with Levy as head coach.
