After 22 years in the NBA, Vince Carter is now set to begin the next chapter of his career–as it was revealed Monday that he is joining ESPN as an NBA analyst.

The UNC legend minored in communications during his time in Chapel Hill and currently hosts a podcast on The Ringer called “Winging it with Vince Carter.”

Early in his career, Carter made eight consecutive All-Star game appearances from 2000-07–putting on arguably the greatest performance the league’s slam dunk contest has ever seen in 2000. He also won an Olympic gold medal with the U.S. National Team in 2000 as well.

Carter’s game became more perimeter-oriented as he aged, moving team-to-team to provide veteran leadership and outside shooting. He ended his career sixth in NBA history with 2,290 three-pointers made.

The last two seasons saw Carter in a bench role with the Atlanta Hawks, but he also spent time with the Toronto Raptors, New Jersey Nets, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzlies and Sacramento Kings.

His final career averages were 16.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.
