Although he originally signed a two-year deal worth $21 million with the New York Knicks when free agency opened earlier this month, former UNC guard Reggie Bullock had to agree to a much cheaper deal with the team when his physical was red-flagged by medical staff.

Bullock recently underwent cervical disc herniation surgery that is expected to make him miss the beginning of the regular season. The Kinston native also has a history of injuries with his knees, back and foot.

As a result, the Knicks were able to lower his price over the two-year deal to less than $4.7 million in total money–with the second year being a team option.

Last season saw Bullock average 11.3 points per game and shoot 37.7 percent from three-point range while spending time with both the Detroit Pistons and Los Angeles Lakers.
