Make it back-to-back NBA championships for former UNC standout Danny Green, as his Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Miami Heat on Sunday night at Disney’s Wide World of Sports in Orlando to cap off one of the wildest seasons in the league’s history.

LeBron James was named the NBA Finals MVP for the fourth time in his career, as he and Green became the first two players to ever start for three different teams and win championships with each of them.

Green also won the championship in 2014 with the San Antonio Spurs–defeating James and the Miami Heat that year–and last season as a member of the Toronto Raptors.

He signed with the Lakers this past offseason following a huge trade that sent All-NBA forward Anthony Davis to Los Angeles in exchange for a plethora of young players and draft picks.

After missing a critical three-pointer late in Friday’s Game 5, it was revealed that Green and his fiancee received death threats from angry fans.

Sunday night saw him respond with 11 points and five rebounds in the 25 minutes of action, as he would ultimately become just the sixth former Tar Heel to win three NBA titles.

The other Tar Heels on that list are Michael Jordan, Rick Fox, James Worthy, Scott Williams and Mitch Kupchak. Only Jordan and Worthy share the distinction with Green of winning both the NCAA title at UNC and an NBA title.

Green also moved into a tie with J.R. Smith for fourth all-time with 59 career three-pointers made in the NBA Finals.
