It might not be Anthony Davis, but the Los Angeles Lakers made a move late Tuesday night to help add perimeter shooting by trading for Detroit Pistons guard Reggie Bullock.

Bullock, who played at UNC for three years before being selected by the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the NBA Draft back in 2013, is currently averaging 12 points per game and shooting 38 percent from three-point range.

The Kinston native was traded in exchange for 21-year-old guard Sviatoslav Mykhailuk and a second round draft pick.

While the NBA world has most of its attention on whether LeBron James and the Lakers will make a move for Davis ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline–the New Orleans Pelicans’ star forward who put in a trade request last week–Bullock represents the first of what could be multiple moves made by the team in the coming days.

For the time being, Bullock will be playing alongside fellow Kinston native Brandon Ingram–a player rumored to be the centerpiece of any deal made for Davis.
