
ESPN will broadcast a special one-hour edition of its “College Football Countdown” show at Kenan Stadium before UNC hosts TCU the night of September 1. The broadcast will air live at 7 p.m. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.
Host Matt Barrie will be joined by analysts Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, Nick Saban and Tedy Bruschi. Bruschi played his entire 13 season NFL career with the New England Patriots, with nine of those coming under Belichick. Saban has his own connections to the UNC head coach, having served on his staff with the Cleveland Browns for four seasons in the 1990s.
Rece Davis and Kirk Herbstreit will be calling the game for ESPN. At halftime, Barrie and Howard will host live coverage from Kenan Stadium.
The game is set to be UNC’s first ever played on a Monday night and the fourth all-time meeting between the Tar Heels and Horned Frogs. The school recently announced that both season ticket packages and individual tickets had completely sold out. The 2025 season is the program’s first under Belichick as head coach. The eight-time Super Bowl champion joined the Tar Heels in December.
