Five members of the UNC women’s tennis team and three members of the men’s team were named to the 2022 All-ACC teams Thursday. On the women’s side, Cameron Morra was named to the first team, while Elizabeth Scotty, Carson Tanguilig, Reilly Tran and Fiona Crawley were each named to the second team. On the men’s side, Brian Cernoch was named to the first team, Benjamin Sigouin to the second team and Mac Kiger to the third team.

Morra is making her third appearance on an All-ACC team, and Crawley is making her second. Scotty, Tanguilig and Tran are each appearing on their first All-ACC teams. Crawley advanced the farthest of any Carolina player, male or female, in the NCAA singles tournament in May, eventually falling in the national semifinals. As a team, the Tar Heels also advanced to the national semifinals, losing to eventual national champion Texas. Their five All-ACC honorees were most in the conference. Carolina’s final record was 28-3.

In addition, Crawley, Scotty, Morra and Tanguilig were each named ITA All-Americans earlier this week. Morra and Tanguilig earned the honor in singles, while Crawley and Scotty did so in both singles and doubles. They are the only pair of teammates in the country to earn double All-American status, and Carolina’s four All-Americans are most of any program in the country. The Tar Heels won the ITA indoor national title in February.

On the men’s side, Sigouin is making is fourth appearance on an All-ACC team, Cernoch his third, and Kiger his first. The trio led the Tar Heels to the No. 15 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament and a spot in the round of 16, where they eventually lost to No. 2 overall seed Florida. Cernoch was ranked as high as No. 22 in the singles poll this season, and earned a win over a top 10 opponent in Columbia’s Alex Kotzen in February.
