The defending national champions are still No. 1. The UNC women’s lacrosse team received the top spot in the Nike/USA Lacrosse and Inside Lacrosse preseason polls. Carolina is coming off an undefeated 2022 season which ended in a national championship.

UNC is one of six ACC teams featured in both polls. Boston College, who fell to the Tar Heels in the 2022 national championship, check in at No. 3 in both. Carolina will open the season on February 11 against No. 12 James Madison in Chapel Hill.
