After two more standout performances against Wake Forest and Notre Dame, UNC senior center Armando Bacot was named the ACC Player of the Week on Monday. It’s the second time this season Bacot has taken home the honor.

Bacot scored 21 points each in wins over the Demon Deacons and Fighting Irish, while also averaging 11 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 blocks in those two games. Against Wake Forest, Bacot also recorded a career-best 5:0 assist-to-turnover ratio. The Notre Dame game saw Bacot record his 58th career double-double, two short of tying Billy Cunningham’s school record. Bacot is now also all alone in second place in career rebounds at Carolina with 1,169. Tyler Hansbrough holds the school record with 1,219.

Bacot received first team All-ACC honors in 2022 and was the runner-up in the voting for ACC Player of the Year. He was named preseason ACC Player of the Year for this season and a preseason All-American.

Bacot and the Tar Heels will be back in action Tuesday night at 9 p.m. when they visit Virginia.
