Six UNC women’s soccer players earned All-ACC recognition on Wednesday, with Ally Sentnor being named ACC Midfielder of the Year as well.

Sentnor is the first UNC player to earn a major individual award from the ACC since teammate Maycee Bell won Freshman of the Year honors in 2019. Sentnor is also the first Tar Heel to win Midfielder of the Year since positional awards began in 2004. Sentnor’s 73 total shots and 20 shots on target this season are the most on the team, and three of her seven goals have been match-winners. She has started all 19 matches this season on her way to a second straight spot on the All-ACC first team.

Avery Patterson joined Sentnor on the first team after being named to the second team in 2022. This season, Patterson’s eight goals and 18 points both lead the team.

Bell, Savy King and Sam Meza each earned second team recognition. Evelyn Shores joined King on the All-Freshman Team.

At 10-1-8, the Tar Heels are now awaiting their bid to the NCAA Tournament. The field will be announced on November 6.
