Many UNC graduate programs earned high marks in the U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Graduate Schools” list, including some taking the top rankings.

The list’s latest results were shared by the university in a release on Tuesday, revealing the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy as the top graduate program in pharmacy for the second straight year and the UNC School of Medicine’s primary care graduate program as the best in its field. It’s the third year in a row the primary care program has finished with the top national ranking.

Many other UNC programs moved up the rankings. The UNC School of Government moved up two spots from its previous ranking, now sitting at tied for 19th overall.  The UNC School of Education rose three places and tied for 24th overall, with the UNC School of Law making the biggest jump of seven spots. The school is now tied at 27th overall and is in the top 10 of ranked public law schools.

In addition, the UNC School of Nursing finished highly. Overall, the school is tied for 3rd with its master’s degree program and placed 7th in its Doctor of Nursing Practice program.

According to the list, the Kenan Flagler Business School is tied for 20th overall in the rankings and the Public Affairs graduate program is ranked 19th overall.

U.S. News ranks business, education, engineering, law, nursing and medical programs annually, while various disciplines and specialties in science, social sciences, humanities, health and other areas are only ranked periodically. A full list of all rankings of all the U.S. News & World Report’s graduate school rankings can be found here.
