Motorists are seeing major delays on I-40 westbound Friday afternoon due to an accident.
Officials with the North Carolina Department of Transportation first reported the wreck just after 2:30 Friday afternoon.
Delays were beginning around the Highway 86 interchange and were causing delays through Highway 54.
The wreck initially had one lane of I-40 westbound closed.
