Patricia Brunson of Durham won a $10 million prize off of a $50 lottery ticket on Monday. Brunson’s ticket was for the new $10 Million Spectacular game, which debuted in December. There are four other $10 million prizes, as well as 15 remaining $1 million prizes and 16 remaining $100,000 prizes.
Brunson bought her ticket from the Homestead Family Fare on Guess Road in Durham. She chose to receive her winnings in a lump sum, which after taxes comes to $4,290,014.

Ticket sales from $10 Million Spectacular and other games raise more than $2.5 million per day for education, with $13.8 million of that going to Durham County in 2023.
