UPDATE: This article has been updated with information regarding the suspect provided by the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office.

A possible shooting suspect is on the run after being chased by police and crashing in Carrboro Monday night.

Alamance County authorities began chasing a car connected with a recent drive-by shooting in Graham late Monday night. Deputies with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office chased the suspect along North Carolina Highway 54 into Orange County and Carrboro.

Just inside Town of Carrboro limits, Alamance County deputies tried a PITT maneuver in an effort to stop the suspect’s car before it went into town. Both Alamance County authorities wrecked, though, and their squad cars were not drivable — with one Alamance County suffering non-life threatening injuries when his vehicle wrecked.

The suspect soon also crashed in the Old Fayetteville Road near West Poplar Avenue, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

On Tuesday, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office shared a release saying the suspect in the case is Corey Montrell Moore, a 27-year-old Siler City resident. Moore faces two counts from Alamance County of resisting public officers, one felony county of fleeing or eluding arrest and several other counts stemming from the car chase.

At the time of the car crash, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office reports Moore as wearing a blue shirt with blue Nike shoes.

Orange County authorities took a woman passenger, Alexxa McKnight, in the crashed car into custody Monday night. McKnight faces one count of aiding a driver with a revoked license in Alamance County.

The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Moore to call the office at 336-570-6300. If you have any information on the shooting in Graham, please call the Graham Police Department at 336-570-6700.
