UPDATE: Chapel Hill Police said in a release at 8:10 a.m. on Tuesday that Dane Sanford was safely located.
The Chapel Hill Police Department is seeking the public’s help in located a 12-year-old reported missing on Monday afternoon.
An alert from the department shortly before 6 p.m. said officers are looking for Dane Sanford of Chapel Hill, who was last seen around 1 p.m. in the area of 102 Jackie Robinson Street — which is in a neighborhood off Legion Road.
Police described Sanford as 5-foot and weighing around 115 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, black jogger pants, a white shirt, and a blue backpack. The alert added Sanford is possibly wearing white and red shoes.
We're seeking the community's assistance locating a missing person. Dane Sanford, 12, of Chapel Hill, was last seen around 1pm in the area of 102 Jackie Robinson Street.
