After an overnight search, law enforcement agencies in Chatham County arrested three men and one juvenile in a manhunt that lasted from Saturday morning into Sunday.

An update from a North Carolina State Highway Patrol spokesperson around 11:15 a.m. said authorities caught and charged the remaining two suspects overnight after arresting two others Saturday afternoon.

19-year-old Marcus Brown and 19-year-old Caleb Kenyetta Sheffield, both of Jacksonville, Florida, face charges including possession of a weapon of mass destruction. Brown also faces a charge of fleeing to Elude Arrest with a motor vehicle as well as larceny of motor vehicle.

The two individuals reported to be in custody Saturday night are Adrian Lowry, 24-year-old from Jacksonville, Florida, and a juvenile. Lowry faces charges of possession of a stolen weapon and possession of a firearm by felon, while the State Highway Patrol said juvenile petitions will be filed related to the involved juvenile.

Saturday’s search began after a State Highway Patrol trooper attempted to stop a car driving 94 mph in a 65 mph zone. After the car failed to pull over for the sirens and lights, the troopers began a brief pursuit.

Around 8:30 a.m., the vehicle stopped in the median of the highway between Pittsboro and Siler City. Four men, described as wearing dark clothing and being armed with weapons, then fled the scene on foot.

Authorities sent out a reverse 911 call to nearby residents, according to a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, telling them to lock doors and remain inside. Anyone who sees men fitting the description is encouraged to call 911 or dial *HP(47) from a cell phone.

Saturday evening’s update said multiple firearms were discovered during the investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are processing them.

Along with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, members of the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, Wildlife Resources Commission and Carrboro Police Department aided in the search.
