Chapel Hill – Carrboro City Schools Board of Education will vote on a new superintendent on Wednesday night.

The system announced the special meeting in a release Monday.

The meeting will be held in the auditorium of Smith Middle School at six o’clock Wednesday evening.

Officials say the candidate is expected to be in attendance. The public is invited to attend the meeting.

The process to find a replacement for Dr. Tom Forcella began after Forcella announced his retirement earlier this year. Dr. Jim Causby has been serving as the interim superintendent while the CHCCS board was searching for a new permanent superintendent.

The original timeline from CHCCS was aiming to have someone in the permanent position beginning in January.
