The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Board of Education is set to elect and announce the system’s new superintendent next week.
In a release on Wednesday morning, CHCCS said its school board will hold a special meeting on Monday, November 23, at 5:30 p.m., where the board will elect and then officially announce the district’s next superintendent. The meeting will take place virtually, as all board meetings have been since the pandemic began, and will accessible through a livestream.
CHCCS said all employees of the school system and community members are invited to attend so they can welcome the new superintendent, who will be replacing Dr. Pam Baldwin and the interim superintendent Dr. Jim Causby. Baldwin resigned from the position in April, with CHCCS hiring Causby to temporarily guide the district through the pandemic in June.
Monday night will not be the public’s only chance to meet and welcome the new superintendent. According to CHCCS, additional public events and opportunities will be announced at a later date.
The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Board of Education will be meeting before Monday, as it is set to hold a regular business meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday night. Information on that meeting, including the livestream link and agenda, can be found here.
