For those who have been permanently or temporarily unemployed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Carrboro Farmers Market recently began offering vouchers worth $10 to spend at any vendor in the market.
In addition, the Farmers Market is offering triple bucks for customers who qualify for electronic benefit transfer, or EBT, meaning $10 in EBT gets a customer $30 worth of goods.
A quick visit to the Info Booth with a statement, email or a text verifying unemployment is all that is necessary to qualify for the voucher, while using a verified EBT account is all that is necessary to participate in the triple bucks offer.
The Carrboro Farmers Market is open from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturdays and from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays.
