The Town of Pittsboro will be moving its town hall from its current location at 635 East Street to a new facility, effective January 16. The new town hall will be located in the Main Street Station building at 287 East Street, Suite 221. In a release, the town described the move as “necessary due to the Town needing more space for our growing Police Department.”
Pittsboro town offices will be closed on Thursday, January 11 and Friday, January 12 as staff moves equipment and files to the new location. Town offices will also be closed on Monday, January 15 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Because of the move, customers who pay utility bills in person will no longer be able to use the drive-thru to give payment to a customer service specialist. Customers who still wish to pay in person must come inside the new Town Hall facility to do so. Other ways to pay utility bills can be found here.
After the move, the Pittsboro Police Department will assume sole occupancy of the existing Town Hall Location. More information will be made available as the town finalizes new hours of operation and available public services for the expanded facility.
“We appreciate the patience of our community and customers as we work through this move,” read a release from the town, “and we look forward to providing high-quality customer service at our new location. We will release additional information regarding the new locations for each department as soon as we have reopened on January 16.”
