The Town of Chapel Hill has selected Atlas Logan as the next director of the Chapel Hill Public Library and Chapel Hill Community Arts & Culture following a nationwide search. Logan’s tenure begins on April 29.
“Working within the library allows me to spend my life in service to others by helping community members in their own quests for knowledge and fulfillment,” Logan said. “I look forward to working with the Chapel Hill Public Library & Community Arts and Culture staff to build upon a strong foundation of service and to make sure that we continue to provide inclusive events, resources, and services with a focus on equity and sustainability.”

Logan comes to Chapel Hill after most recently serving as the Norcross Branch Manager with Gwinnett Public Libraries in Georgia. She has worked in libraries for more than 20 years.
“This was a competitive process, and we had a field of excellent candidates from across the country,” said Chapel Hill Town Manager Chris Blue. “Atlas demonstrated strong leadership skills as well as a real passion for the role that library and arts play in building and enhancing community. Her commitment to our mission and values was clear throughout the process.”
Logan will take over for Meeghan Rosen, who has served as the library’s interim director since November and will retire later this year after 25 years of service to the town. Susan Brown, the library’s last full-time director, left her post in the fall to become the town’s Executive Director for Strategic Communications.
