The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious death in Northern Orange County after a body was found in a car.

Sheriff deputies responded to the area near North Carolina Highway 157 and Wagner Dairy Road at approximately 9:30 Thursday morning after receiving a call about a suspicious vehicle.

Upon arrival, deputies found a deceased male in a gold Toyota Camry. The sheriff’s office’s release described the man as white and in his late fifties. His name is being withheld as the next of kin is notified.

A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said the body was found in the vehicle’s backseat.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said Walter Vila is the lead investigator in the incident. Anyone with any information is encouraged to call him at 919-245-2907.
