The Orange County Sheriff’s Office reported damage to county property near the Orange County Motor Pool in Hillsborough.

The sheriff’s office alerted residents of the news in Thursday’s Community Watch Daily Report, saying a sizeable hole was cut in the fence surrounding the county facility.

In the report, the hole is described as “large enough for a person to make entry on the back side of the property.”

The motor pool is located on the 600 block of NC Highway 86 North where various county vehicles are kept, including Orange County Public Transportation vehicles. The sheriff’s office said in the report the hole is located behind the trailers at the facility and is close to where the Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle, or MRAP, is parked.

The sheriff’s office requested for county workers to keep the hole in the fence in mind when checking the Motor Pool property at night.
