A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in northern Chapel Hill on Tuesday night.

Police officials said the collision was on Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard at Westminster Drive near the intersection with Weaver Dairy Road. Authorities say the wreck was reported around 9:30 p.m.

The cause of the accident is under investigation and southbound lanes of Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard remained closed while the investigation was ongoing. Lanes were reopened just before 1 a.m. Wednesday.
