****UPDATE: One arrested, one sought after three kilograms of heroin seized in Orange County****

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a subject, who is “possibly armed and dangerous,” in the area of Rocky Ridge Road Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities said a reverse 911 call was made to residents near the area northwest of Chapel Hill between Dairyland Road and Arthur Minnis Road, advising them to call 911 if they see the suspect or any suspicious activity and to not approach the individual.

Orange County Sheriff Charles Blackwood said the suspect fled into the woods after a controlled purchase of narcotics had been set up as part of an undercover operation.

The subject is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and estimated to be in his late 20s with dark hair. Officials said he was last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark-colored t-shirt.

Deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office were assisted by a K9 from Carrboro and air support from the State Highway Patrol in their immediate search of a wooded area near the scene, according to law enforcement.
