After a manhunt that lasted from Tuesday into Wednesday, a suspect in a Chatham County shooting has been arrested in Chapel Hill

Officials say Angel Soto was taken into custody without incident just before two o’clock Wednesday morning at the Pine Gate apartment complex.

According to the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, Kassidy Lowe, who officials were also searching for, was with Soto at the time of his arrest. Lowe is expected to be questioned as part of the investigation.

Authorities asked for assistance locating Soto after deputies responded to a report of a shooting on Charlie Brooks Road in Moncure Tuesday morning.

The victim in the shooting has been identified as 21-year-old Jacob Hinson, who was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

WTVD-TV in Durham is reporting that Soto has been charged with one count of felony attempted murder, one count of felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and one count of misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon. Soto is being held under a $475,000 secured bond with a court appearance scheduled for February 20.
