The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office revealed on Tuesday its recent efforts to arrest and charge a Pittsboro resident over a variety of alleged sex crimes with a juvenile.
A release from the sheriff’s office said it arrested 55-year-old Delfin Delgado Jr. on Friday on charges of felony second degree forcible sexual offense, felony second degree forcible rape, felony human trafficking, felony sexual servitude, and felony incest.

The Chatham County Department of Social Services alerted the sheriff’s office to allegations on June 28. Tuesday’s release said investigators conducted a Child Medical Examination on the juvenile victim, completed a search warrant on the victim’s phone, and interviewed witnesses — which provided evidence to arrest Delgado.
Delgado is jailed under a $500,000 secured bond, said the sheriff’s office. He is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court over the charges on August 28.
