Chapel Hill Police are investigating a string of car break-ins and thefts in Southern Village early Wednesday morning.
Authorities said “multiple car breaking and entering cases and car thefts” took place between 2:30 a.m. and 4 a.m. in the area of Greenview and Copperline drives.
“We’re looking for anyone with doorbell cameras or surveillance cameras that may have caught the suspects in the act,” officials said Wednesday.
Police are reminding residents to lock doors and windows in vehicles and homes, store valuable items out of sight and park in well-lit areas.
Authorities said in an update Wednesday afternoon that three vehicles were stolen and one home was broken into. Officials said additional vehicle breaking and entering incidents had been reported throughout the day.
