A scary situation on Route 64 near Pittsboro led to a drug-related arrest on Monday.

Chatham County authorities got a call claiming a burgundy Tahoe was trying to ram another vehicle off the roadway – and that the driver was waving a firearm out the window. (The caller said the driver had already fired two shots.) Deputies stopped the vehicle and conducted a search; they did not find a firearm, but they did find a holster – as well as marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

The driver, 28-year-old Quinton Crisp of Pittsboro, now faces three felony drug charges. He’s scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court on April 23.
