Gunshots from the Camelot Village complex in Chapel Hill led to a police investigation and the arrest of a Burlington man on Tuesday.

Residents and community members near the neighborhood off South Estes Drive reported hearing multiple gunshots from the area shortly after 2 p.m. A spokesperson for the Chapel Hill Police Department told Chapelboro officers were dispatched to the area based on a shots-fired call.

Chapel Hill Police arrested 20-year-old Jadakiss Deandre Gattis in connection to the incident. Officers were seen taking him into custody in the parking lot of University Place, which is across the street from the entrance to Camelot Village, shortly after the incident.

Gattis, who police reports say was armed with a handgun, faces three felony charges: discharging a weapon in a dwelling or moving vehicle, possession of a stolen firearm and larceny.

Gattis was placed under a $25,000 bond at the Orange County Detention Center. He is slated to appear in court on Wednesday afternoon.
