On Thursday, Chapel Hill residents can look to the sky for an aerial salute to North Carolina’s healthcare workers.
The Flying For The Flag Bandit Flight Team will do flyovers at hospitals in the state, starting Thursday in the Triangle area.
The celebratory flights are part of North Carolina’s Frontline Flyover series, which is dedicated to frontline workers during the coronavirus pandemic and is part of National Hospital Week.
There will be six planes and each will have smoke trails at hospital locations across the state.
The Bandit planes will fly over UNC Medical Center at 7:27 p.m. on Thursday. Those who go outside to watch the flyover are encouraged to practice social distancing.
