The Orange County Health Department is partnering with StarMed Healthcare to host COVID-19 testing events in Chapel Hill on Thursday and Friday.
According to a flyer issued by the county, one event is slated for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, at the Hargraves Community Center. The release said the tests will be nasal swabs, which will be free with registration at the site.
Motorists coming to the testing event should to enter the neighborhood by using Mitchell Lane and turning left onto North Roberson Street before arriving at the community center.
Friday’s testing event will be held in the R7 Parking Lot at 725 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, which is across the road from the shopping center with The Root Cellar Cafe and Lucha Tigre. That event will also run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Orange County Health said in its release results of the nasal swab tests to be administered will take around three days to become available. Community members who are tested should receive their positive or negative results through a text message.
Flyers distributed for the free COVID-19 testing events in Chapel Hill can be found on the Orange County website in both English and Spanish.
