****UPDATE: The Orange County Health Department postponed the testing event until Tuesday due to a forecast of inclement weather. This article has been updated to reflect this information.****

In an effort to continue measuring the spread of COVID-19 within the community, the Orange County Health Department is holding a free testing event on Tuesday.

The health department will be welcoming community members to get tested for the coronavirus from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Newman Catholic Student Center in Chapel Hill. The center, located at 218 Pittsboro Street, will be available for drive-thru and walk up testing. Motorists are asked to use the entrance and exit off of 211 Pittsboro Street.

According to the Orange County Health Department, anyone is encouraged to come get tested. Registration is on site and the nasal swab COVID-19 tests will be free of charge. Those tested will be sent their results via text message with two to three days.

The health department is working with StarMed Healthcare to put on this fourth testing event in the span of a week. Testing at the Hargraves Community Center and at a parking lot off M.L.K Boulevard in Chapel Hill was conducted to monitor the coronavirus and help community members prevent its spread.
