A pizza restaurant from a renowned local chef is coming to the South Green development in Carrboro.
Chef Teddy Diggs will be opening Coronato, a Roman-style pizzeria concept, in the shopping center under development on South Greensboro Street in the spring of 2019. The announcement was made in a release this week.
Diggs has most recently served as the chef of Il Palio in Chapel Hill. He began working locally after time in Washington D.C. Diggs was named one of 16 Chefs to Watch in 2016 by Restaurant Hospitality.
The restaurant will be the first offering of Roman-style pizza of its kind in the South, according to the announcement.
Diggs has been hosting pizza pop-ups across the community to introduce the concept, which is known for its thin crust.
