Chapel Hill Community Arts and Culture released its 2023 event calendar Thursday, with several local favorites once again featuring. Here’s a look at what Chapel Hill residents can look forward to in 2023:

  • June 3: The Chapel Hill Pride Promenade will make its way through downtown Chapel Hill. The town is inviting participants to come decorated in color to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. The promenade will begin at the Peace and Justice Plaza and end at 140 West Franklin Plaza. A social gathering with music and activities will begin afterward.
  • June 17: Chapel Hill will celebrate Juneteenth with live performances, expos for Black-owned businesses, food trucks, children’s activities and more.
  • July 4: The annual fireworks display can be viewed at Southern Community Park. Residents are invited to bring blankets, chairs and friends starting at 7 p.m. The fireworks will begin around 9 p.m.
  • July 20, 27 and August 10, 17: Movies Under The Stars returns to the Forest Theatre on the UNC campus. Movie titles and activities will be announced soon.
  • September 16: The Town of Chapel Hill is inviting everyone to the first-ever Live at Legion community concert. The free event will take place from 3-6 p.m. at 1714 Legion Road. A lineup is yet to be announced.
  • October 14, 21 and 28: The Festifall Arts Market makes its return to Chapel Hill on three dates in October. Each market will take place at 140 West Franklin Street from 1-6 p.m. Applications for artists, performers and vendors will open in June. To be notified when the call opens, sign up here.
  • November 12: An array of local food trucks and non-profits are coming together for the Thanks + Giving Food Truck Rodeo and community picnic at 1714 Legion Road from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • December 9: The annual Chapel Hill-Carrboro Community Holiday Parade will take over Franklin Street. More than forty arts, cultural and community groups take part in this celebration of the winter season. The parade is scheduled to start at 12 p.m.
