While Vance Honeycutt’s 2022 season is officially over, the freshman phenom is still bringing in national accolades.

Two national organizations each named Honeycutt to their freshman All-America teams for 2022: the online publication Collegiate Baseball and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers’ Association.

In addition, D1 Baseball named Honeycutt as a third team All-America.

A starter from the very first game of the season, Honeycutt quickly established himself as a stalwart in the UNC lineup. He led the team in home runs (25, a UNC single-season record), OPS (1.081), runs (66), slugging percentage (.672) and triples (4). Honeycutt also stole 29 bases this season, making him the only player in the history of the program to hit 20 home runs and steal 20 bases in a single season. He is one of only two 20-20 players in the country this season. Honeycutt and Alberto Osuna are also the first pair of teammates to each hit 20 home runs in a single season in Carolina history.

It’s yet another honor for Honeycutt, who was named to the ACC All-Freshman team, third team All-ACC, and ACC Tournament MVP this past season.
