In what’s becoming an annual tradition, ESPN’s flagship college basketball pregame show, College Gameday, will visit Chapel Hill in advance of the Duke-Carolina game in the Smith Center on Saturday night.
Host Rece Davis will be joined by analysts LaPhonso Ellis, Seth Greenberg and Jay Bilas to discuss the game and others around the college basketball landscape.
As always, fans are encouraged to attend the broadcast from the Smith Center floor. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m., admission is free and seating is general admission in sections 104 through 114. UNC students will be directed toward Entrance C, while the general public will use Entrance D. Concessions will be available. Carolina is also offering door prizes, including signed basketballs, a TV and Nike merchandise.
Parking for the event will be available in the non-reserved sections of the Manning and Bowles Lots, with disability parking in the Williamson Lot. All lots must be cleared by 1 p.m.
Sign-making is encouraged, as College Gameday has become known for the creative signs and messages fans hold up for the TV cameras. Signs with religious/political references, competitive/commercial brand references, personal/promotional hashtags and profanity will not be permitted. There will be sign-making stations outside Entrances C and D.
For those who would like to watch on TV, College Gameday will be broadcast on ESPN at 10 a.m.
As a bonus, Saturday’s broadcast will feature a special guest: country music artist and North Carolina native Eric Church.
The broadcast generally concludes with the analysts giving their picks for the game. That excludes Bilas, who will be calling the game at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN.
