UNC senior center Armando Bacot earned a spot among 15 players from around the country on the late-season watch list for the Oscar Robertson Trophy, one of several awards which honors the national player of the year.
Bacot is the only ACC player on the list. Currently, he ranks in the conference’s top five in points per game (16.5, fourth), rebounding (10.8, first) and field goal percentage (55.3, fourth). Bacot is also averaging 4.36 offensive rebounds per game, which according to UNC is a single-season program record.
Speaking of records, Bacot is the current Carolina record-holder in career double-doubles and career rebounds, having broken both records earlier this season. He was named first team All-ACC last season and was the runner-up for ACC Player of the Year.

Bacot and the Tar Heels will take on the Duke Blue Devils in the regular-season finale Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in Chapel Hill. It will be Senior Night for Bacot, though the star big man does retain the ability to use his COVID year of eligibility and stay in college basketball for one more season.
