Chapel Hill Stormwater is teaming up with the Town of Carrboro to clean up a section of the Morgan Creek watershed.
On Saturday, March 7, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., volunteers are invited to pick up litter along the stream next to the Roberson Place pathway on the border of Chapel Hill and Carrboro.
According to the Town of Chapel Hill, every time it rains litter from both towns washes down into the unnamed stream. This pollution and litter impacts the critters who live there and clogs up the stormwater pipes downstream.
To participate in the watershed clean-up, sign-up and fill out the form here.
Participants will meet in the gravel parking lot at the South Green Development in Carrboro. Gloves, trash bags, trash grabbers and first-aid kits will be provided.
Volunteers are required to wear close-toed shoes. Waterproof boots, long pants, and long-sleeved shirts are also recommended.
